About the Event

Join us inside Far Out to embroider radical Far Out tees with Atelier Reno! If you’ve got some sewing skills (threading a needle, basic stitching, etc.), you can dive right in, picking up your tee and start stitching away.

If you’re a newbie, we’ll have Atelier in Reno instructor Kelly, Thrive and Thicken’s Sarah Lillegard and Great Basin Fiber Shed’s Sara Garey-Sage on hand to help you hone your embroidery skills. We’ll be embroidering right on to your brand-spanking-new, lightweight, Good Lovin’ tee from Coalition Snow.

Date: Thursday, July 20th

Time: 6 - 8 pm

Cost: $15 if you bring your own supplies and $25 if you need embroidery supplies; the tee is included in the price for both options. You must register in advance and can choose your size and supplies here.

Where: This workshop takes place at the Reno Public Market at Far Out

Pre-registration is required. Please select the pricing option to either bring your own supplies or receive a kit. All registrations come with a unisex tee.

To bring your own supplies, please bring:

// 5” hoop (if you choose to embroider the front of the tee) // 10” hoop (if you choose to embroider the back of the tee) // Various sizes of embroidery needles // Your favorite embroidery thread // Embroidery cards // Small scissors

About Sarah Lillegard

About the Great Basin Fibershed

This workshop is hosted by Great Basin Fibershed is a non-profit organization that develops regional fiber systems that build ecosystem and community health. Our work expands opportunities to implement climate benefitting agriculture, rebuild regional manufacturing, and connect end-users to the source of our fiber through education. We transform the economic systems behind the production of material culture to mitigate climate change, improve health, and contribute to racial and economic equity. Fibershed affiliate chapters exist across the globe. The Great Basin Fibershed chapter was founded in 2021 and encompasses the environmental region of the Great Basin within the state of Nevada. We seek to promote and support regional textile economies, climate beneficial textile production, and engage in education and advocacy with our communities.
